Maria is a single mother with a 3 year old baby. She gets a small amount of financial help from her parents, but not enough to support herself and her baby. She cleans houses for money.

Maria heard that Legacy School had a sponsorship program and came to the school asking about it. At the age of 22, she started the 10th grade through a YUDA Band scholarship. She is very excited about the opportunity to go to school and hopeful that it will give her a better life for her baby. With a high school diploma she will be able to find better employment.
