Ruben's father is a mechanic and his mother works as a tortilla maker.  He has 5 younger brothers. They live in an outlying town and he is living at the home of one of the teachers from Legacy School during the week. This teacher knows his family and knows their great need and took Ruben in to live with her family. She gives him room and board for no cost to help him and his family. This teacher is the one that recommended Ruben to Legacy School. This young man is very happy and loves school. He is a friend to all. On the weekend he travels home to stay with his family.
