How much does it cost: The cost to sponsor a child is $375 per year or $31.25 per month. It can be paid monthly or in one lump sum.

Who would I sponsor? A profile of children waiting for sponsors can be seen by clicking here. Read about their personal situation, their goals for the future, and their reason for needing assistance. The child you choose to sponsor is up to you.

How does it work? Money from sponsors is paid by a check to Yuda Foundation. Checks are deposited in a US account for the school,and the funds are then wired to an account for Legacy School in Guatemala. The money is donated in the name of the sponsor on behalf of the sponsored student. The entire donated amount goes to the student's education-there are no administration costs.

Can I communicate with the student? Yes, and that's one of the best parts. Legacy School will provide each sponsored student with an email address and internet connection at the school to communicate with sponsors through email. You may also choose to participate in a humanitarian trip where you'll get to meet your student and their family.

Am I obligated to continue sponsoring a student once I've started? No. Of course, we hope you'll want to, however being a sponsor is only a one year committment. At the end of the school year, you'll have the chance to choose to continue sponsoring your student or not. If you choose not to, we'll find a new sponsor for that student.
